I’d buy this application all over again if I had to. Outside of the manually data entry it’s pretty straight forward, so if you need both an Application removal tool, and a license key manager you’ll want to check it out. The My Apps section of AppZapper is no different from the competition, manually inputting your applications, manually entering the license information. I know it’s easier said then done, but Belarc has been doing in on Windows machines for years, so someone, somewhere must have a solution. Who really has time to manually input their serial key information into these programs? I doubt many people do, and the first company that figures out how to extrapolate serial numbers from our applications is going to come out on top. I’m a big fan of not having to do much work to get an application up to snuff usability-wise, and license key managers never live up to my expectations. I’m not sure how I feel about these license key managers. So, if you’re anything like me, and install copious amounts of Mac applications then forget about them, AppZapper is going to help you find them, the remove them from your system. They’ve even given you the ability to filter your listings by size, by the last day the application was used, and by a traditional search bar. Finding your applications, widgets, preference panes, and plugins has never been easier. The New Features The new look and feelĪppZapper still has the traditional look and feel, but they’ve also added a secondary format, which has made it a lot quicker to use. AppZapper tracks down these files and makes sure everything gets uninstalled. Anyway, when installing an application code gets embedded all over the operating system, making it difficult to fully uninstall a program when you’re done with it. While OS X developers have had the ability to create self-contained code for a while now, some still use some archaic practices, some of which are legitimate, but most of which are lazy. So, like every other operating system (read as Windows), application installations are a messy business. If you do know, you might as well skip on to the next section. If you’re not sure what AppZapper is or why you might need it, this sections for you. The really cool thing is that if you have previously purchased the App, they’re giving you the upgrade for free, Macheist purchasers included. It’s been a couple of years since the original AppZapper was released, and finally it’s been given an upgrade. I’ve been using AppZapper 1 since it came bundled in the second Macheist package, but I was getting a little worried that it was outdated. Add in the fact that it actually does something useful, like removing applications efficiently, and there’s a good chance the application will be sticking around on my machine for a while. Especially if it makes a loud zapping noise at my request. Or some key file is still set in a way not to allow my version of CS4 to run.Anything that zaps applications is alright with me. My install is "seeing" something it obviously doesn't like. There must be some key folders or files that's preventing my install of CS4 from running. Still get the same error message-> You can't open the application "Adobe Photoshop CS4" because it is not supported on this architecture Possibly.ħ:37 PM.just removed any folder with "CS4" on it from the HD/Library/application support/adobe folder. I'm assuming these leftover CS4 folders from my installing CS4 Extended is what MY version of CS4 is seeing. What do you mean "reinstalling photoshop"? Did you mean after removing all "CS4" labelled folders in the HD/application support/adobe folder? Because if I just go reinstall CS4 now, as is, I'm pretty sure I'll still end up with the same error message. Then removed it days ago knowing that I would soon get my copy in the mail.Īny one else is free to chime in too of course. As I did have the "CS4 Extended Trial" installed previously. I did NOT have CS4 Master Collection. But, would there be some files I can delete in the HD Adobe directory too (only other Adobe app I have installed is Lightroom 2.2 and Reader)? I do see a CS4 folder. So the solution for him was to reinstall that suite and select all the included software. I Googled.found something similar.except the other guy had previously installed "CS4 Master Collection" edition and didn't install 4 of the included softwares. I get the ".this application won't run on this architecture" error. Now.I don't suppose you could help me with my other Photoshop problem. I've been looking under my "home" directory and not the Mac HD directory.
